Racism

What don't we know or understand about racism? what do we wish to know about racism? What do we know that a lot of people don't?

Their isn't to many thing that I don't know about racism. then again, if I don't know them how will I know they exist. so, I'm going to just start of by stating thing i do know that a lot of people may not know.

  • Racism DOES still exist. (obviously)
  • Racism is bigger than just Black vs. White
  • It's possible to be Racist, even if you are "friends" with a person from another race.
  • Their is a difference between being stereotypical and being racist.
Right now this is all I can think of, but I will post as they come to me.

  1. I have never dealt with racism myself but i know it exist. Racism to me is just a word that mean you don't like this person because of there quality or personality, and looks. even though it has never occurred with me i have friends that have dealt with it. Racism stills exist it just not as bad as it use to be.

  2. I had a friend in Sophomore year who was a racist. I didn't know it then, but he was a hardcore racist. He Grew up north and his dad was a racist so it kind of wore off on him. When we first started hanging out I noticed he would give kind of dirty looks to Black people and later on he would start stereotyping people near me. After that i realized he was full on racist and I stopped hanging out with him. So i would argue that if you are stereotypical you are at least a little bit racist. They go hand in hand.
