What was Lisa's main point? Do i agree?
Lisa's delivered a very important message through this particular Simpsons episode. The message, or what i from it, was that young girls often grow up under the wrong influence. At a young age we have barbie dolls that we idolize. although it is impossible to look like these barbie dolls, we still want to look like them. we want their hair, body, and face when that is less than likely to happen. not only are we idolizing barbie dolls we idolize TV personals who may fall under the stereotype of women. we grow up wanting to be someones wife and mother before we even learn how to multiply. not that there is anything wrong with being a wife and mother, but i feel like young girls should want to serve a bigger purpose.
I agree when i was little i wanted to be just like Barbie. While watching the episode it made some really good points. The products that our parent gave us when we were little like the barbie dolls or the baby toys were a big influence on us.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a girl, so I personally don't feel like I can accurately judge how much Barbie's are influencing little girls, so I'm going to talk about Action figures. I still have a tub or around 300 Rescue Heros, and I used to play with them all the time. They were Gi-Joe wanna-be's and they had short hair and Giant Biceps. I don't feel like they influenced me that much. I don't have short hair or giant biceps.
