Gender
What is gender? Gender is the range of characteristics pertaining to, and differentiating between, masculinity and femininity. Many people think that because you are male or female you have to do a specific thing that your gender requires of you. Well let me tell you now that we are in the 20th century things are different . Girls play boy sports and likes to play video games. Most boys don't mind a little girly things. We see young boys today wearing lots of pink clothing and wear girly backpacks. We may still have a little bias between the two but we are getting better.
I feel like gender, as a topic, is bigger than ever at this point in time. the biggest issue in my opinion is the topic of gender change. According to the previous society our gender is chosen by god himself before we even enter this world. however, todays society claims that sometimes your gender is not correct. I am a firm believer in this as well. I think that one can not deny the true feelings with in them. rather a person is born that way or simply has a change of heart it all results to them simply wanting what they want. the feeling of being trapped in a body that is not meant for you is often described to be as painful as being stuck in a religion that is unfit for your beliefs, interests, or inner feeling in general.
ReplyDeleteI think that now is the time point in history where the Gender gap is the smallest. Back in the day women would get pregnant at 15, have 2 kids, and die at 20. Now there are options. Women don't have to have kids, or get married. They can be CEO's or whatever they want. As for men we could pretty much do whatever we wanted forever (Especially if you're white). Another big issue is transgender people. I generally tend to think that people should be able to do whatever they want to do as long as it doesn't hurt anybody. I also just want to point out that Caitlin Jenner should be in jail, for vehicular manslaughter.
